Icer Brakes has a strong commitment to ESG principles (Environmental, Social, Governance), which guide our operations and corporate values.
In the social area (S), at Icer we take care of our people and seek to offer them an optimal working environment, with equal opportunities to all. To this end, we have implemented an equality plan that promotes gender equity and inclusion in the workplace, as well as work-life balance policies, ensuring a healthy work environment. In addition, Icer Brakes is an active member of the communities in which it operates, and wants to contribute to the economic development of the region, for which we carry out numerous actions.
In terms of Governance (G), Icer stands out for its strict regulatory compliance and a solid code of conduct that guides all of our activities. We have developed specific compliance policies, and our corporate values include the importance of working professionally, rigorously and ethically.
Finally, in the environmental aspect (E), Icer is an ecological company, and we work to contribute to a more sustainable world. We want to be active players in the construction of a responsible future and this commitment is present in our company culture and our actions. All this is reflected in our slogan: "Better Brakes for a Better World".
Icer products are environmentally friendly: all our brake pads are copper-free and heavy metal free. Icer products are certified as Level N according to the USA Better Brakes Law.
Our boxes a
re made with 100% recycled cardboard, and they are 100% recyclable and biodegradable. Also, they have been specially designed to limit the impact of their production on the environment.
In our factory in Tudela (Navarra), we work to implement different measures to ensure that our manufacturing process is responsible and respectful with the environment. Our manufacturing process is based on circular economy and we use multiple recycled materials.
Our commitment to the environment can also be seen in our efforts to use clean energies. In 2020 we set up a self-consumption photovoltaic installation in our manufacturing plant in Tudela. This plant covers around 20% of our annual electricity consumption in Tudela, and it helps avoid the emission of 600 tons of CO2 every year. We are currently working on expanding this plant to reach 35% of our energy consumption.
In 2023, Icer Brakes joined the UN Global Compact, an initiative for the development and disclosure of responsible business practices through the application of the Ten Universally Accepted Principles of the United Nations and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Icer supports the mission of UNGC to mobilize a global a movement of sustainable companies and stakeholders to create the world we want.
Icer Brakes is also a member of the Sustainability Committee of SERNAUTO (Spanish Association of Automotive Suppliers), as well as the Project EnREDarse, the reference network in terms of sustainability in the Spanish region of Navarra.
